How the score works - Plain rules, so you can check the result yourself.
No weighting tricks and no hidden lead score. The same five steps we use to scope every engagement, scored the same way for everyone.
Five steps, three points each
Each question scores one step of the ladder from 0 to 3. Guardrails and delivery each take two questions, averaged. Fifteen is the top score.
The first gap wins
The earliest step scoring 1 or below is where to start, because each step depends on the one before it. With no gap that deep, the weakest step is the one to work on.
Flags use real dates
If software decides about people and your turnover is over AU $3 million, the result counts the days to 10 December 2026. If you pay for Copilot and few use it, it says so.
Your numbers stay yours
The hours-at-stake figure is your headcount times your hours. It is the size of the pool, not a promised saving. Answers stay in your browser until you choose to send them.
What each step measures
- 01Check
- Visibility. Do you know what AI is already in use?
- 02Discover
- Direction. Is there a ranked list of what to do?
- 03Guard
- Guardrails. Are the rules written and owned?
- 04Ship
- Delivery. Is anything live and measured?
- 05Sustain
- Ownership. Does someone own it afterwards?
The evidence behind the questions - Why these nine questions.
Every statistic shown beside a question is published, with its source. They are the reasons the ladder runs in the order it does.

Fixed scope is not a pricing trick. It is the only way one person can promise a date, keep it, and still say no to work you do not need.
